Description

How to make a gorgeous Valentine’s Day chocolate and cheese board that’s perfect for a party or just right for a night in.

Ingredients

  • cheese – this board contains aged Cheddar, Swiss, pepper Jack, medium cheddar, and a little hunk of blueberry goat cheese
  • peach jalapeño jam
  • whole grain mustard
  • assorted crackers
  • chocolate fondue
  • fruit such as sliced apples, strawberries, blueberries, or bananas
  • things to dip in chocolate fondue such as angel food cake, pretzels, marshmallows, pound cake, gummy bears
  • Valentine’s sweets such as heart-shaped gummies, individual chocolates, chocolate-covered strawberries, cookies
  • board
  • cheese knives

Instructions

  1. Place your cheeses on your board. Feel free to pre-slice one or two of the cheeses if you desire.
  2. Place condiments (jam and mustard) in small serving bowls (bonus points if the dishes are festive or heart-shaped!) and place on board.
  3. Place the chocolate fondue opposite of the condiments
  4. Place crackers and cheese accompaniments around the cheeses.
  5. Place fondue dippables around the chocolate.
  6. Add fruit and chocolate-covered strawberries.
  7. Fill in the gaps with candies and other treats.
  8. Garnish with candies and small seasonal items.
  9. Serve right away.

Notes

  • Milton crackers are great on cheese boards because they come in so many varieties and flavors.
  • You can customize this recipe based on dietary restrictions by adding or removing things accordingly. You can use gluten-free crackers or add meat for those who can’t have dairy.
  • Don’t skip the whole grain mustard! It is perfect paired with a bit of cheese and some jam on a cracker.
  • Find heart-shaped bowls and treats as well as treats that are traditional Valentine’s colors (like reds and pinks) to make everything feel more festive.
